Million Dollar Blocks

Interested in studying mass incarceration, fiscal spending, or neighborhood segregation? Million Dollar Blocks uses data obtained by the Chicago Justice Project from the Cook County Court to map all adult convictions in Chicago between 2005-2009. Data pertaining to the nature of the offense, sentence length, and offender's neighborhood residence is also included.

On average, they assume the Illinois Department of Corrections spends $22,000 per year for every inmate.
