Crime and Punishment in Chicago

Through an index of data sources, Crime and Punishment in Chicago aims to catalog the criminal justice system from moment of arrest to prison inmate data. Specifically, the project looks at eight consecutive features of the criminal justice system: (1) Victimization; (2) Call for Service; (3) Incidents; (4) Arrest; (5) Prosecution; (6) Jail; (7) Court; (8) Prison.

The project also categorizes each feature into open, FOIA-accessible, and unavailable data. Massive amounts of open data, in addition to resources contributed by peer metropolitan areas, is available for each feature.
